1. Who we are
Peptide Development Labs Inc. ("PDL," "we," "us" or "our") is a development-stage pharmaceutical company advancing injectable peptide drug candidates through regulated development. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit peptidedevelopmentlabs.com (the "Site"), contact us, or subscribe to our investor communications.
PDL is headquartered in Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) ("PIPEDA"), applicable provincial privacy laws, and, where they apply, the privacy laws of other jurisdictions in which our Site visitors reside.
2. Important: please do not send us health information
The Site is a corporate and investor information website. It is not a patient portal, and it is not designed to receive medical records, symptoms, diagnoses, treatment history or other personal health information.
- Please do not include personal health information about yourself or anyone else in our contact form or in emails to us.
- PDL cannot provide medical advice and does not respond to individual treatment requests. Access to an investigational product, where permitted by law, must be initiated by a treating physician through the applicable regulatory program.
- If you send us health information anyway, we will not use it for any purpose other than to respond to you or redirect you, we will limit access to it, and we will delete it once it is no longer needed for that purpose, unless we are legally required to retain it.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect your first and last name, email address, and the content of your message. If you check the box to join our investor distribution list, we record your consent, the date and time it was given, and your email address.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our Site and hosting provider automatically collect limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. We use this for security, troubleshooting and understanding aggregate Site usage.
Information we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect health information, precise geolocation, government identification numbers, payment card information or biometric information through the Site.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Site. [If applicable: We also use privacy-focused analytics provided by [Analytics provider] to understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate. These analytics are configured not to collect health information and not to track you across other websites.]
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or retargeting tools on the Site, and we do not share Site activity with advertising networks. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the Site.
5. How we use your information
We use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, or for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including to:
- respond to your inquiries and route them to the right person (investor relations, physician and clinic inquiries, partnerships and media);
- send news releases and corporate updates to investors who have opted in to our distribution list;
- operate, secure and improve the Site, and detect and prevent fraud or misuse;
- comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including securities law and stock exchange requirements.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
6. Consent and investor communications
By submitting the contact form, you consent to our collecting and using your information to respond to you. We will only send you news releases and corporate updates if you expressly opt in, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing us at the address below.
8. Where your information is stored
PDL and our service providers may store and process personal information in Canada, the United States or other countries. When your information is processed outside your province or country, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that jurisdiction. We take contractual and technical steps to ensure it receives a comparable level of protection.
9. Consumer health data (U.S. residents)
Certain U.S. state laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act, protect "consumer health data." The Site is not designed to collect consumer health data, and we do not collect, share or sell it through the Site. If you submit consumer health data despite our request not to, we will use it only as necessary to respond to you, will not sell it or share it with third parties for any other purpose, and will honour requests to access or delete it. Residents of these states can make requests using the contact details in Section 15.
10. How we protect your information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS), access controls limited to personnel with a need to know, secure hosting, and service provider agreements with confidentiality and security obligations. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant privacy regulators as required by law.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and where changes are material we will provide additional notice as required by law.
